Citrus Saturdays is a UCL initiative to help teach young people what it’s like to be an entrepreneur. As you might have guessed from the name, the goal is to help teams of young people and youth groups set up and run a lemonade stall somewhere in London.
We volunteered and took part in three workshops which all covered different aspects which would school kids learn to run a business - The participants started out by forming teams and working on marketing materials before moving on to try and test the lemonade that they would sell.
The stats from the actual day comprised of 75 young people and 50 volunteers manning 16 lemonade businesses. The combined effort of the young entrepreneurs and willing volunteers helped the stalls sell just over £3000 worth of lemonade!
